This is a story you will love

In the heart of Lagos, tucked within the leafy corners of Eden Crest Estate, the air was thick with excitement. Christmas was just seven days away, and the entire estate buzzed with preparations for their annual end of the year party. Children rehearsed carols, decorations glittered on gates, and small chops/food vendors were already being booked.
At the center of it all was Chairlady Mama Agba, a fiery, no-nonsense woman with a loud laugh and even louder presence. By her side was Anita, a younger resident known for her sharp ideas and environmental advocacy. The planning committee gathered that evening under a big canopy near the estate park, sipping zobo and penning down logistics.
“We can’t afford another mess like last year,” Mama Agba boomed, her gele almost tilting from the nods of agreement.
Last year’s party was a disaster. After the fun and fanfare, the estate was littered with plastic plates, bottles, and spoons. The gutters overflowed with trash, and the estate management had to spend thousands of naira hiring a cleanup crew. It was a shameful sight.
That’s when Anita spoke up, her voice calm but firm. “Let’s go green this year. No plastics. Let’s use paper lunch packs, paper bags, paper cups, bamboo cutlery. Eco-friendly items that won’t harm our environment.”
Some eyebrows raised, but after a few explanations and price checks, everyone agreed.
The very next day, Anita placed a bulk order for biodegradable paper packaging from Aquada Box. They had this Christmas themed collection that suited the occasion perfectly, and that was what she ordered for.
On the day of the end of the year party, Eden Crest Estate came alive with vibrant energy, music echoed from the estate park, the aroma of smoky jollof and grilled chicken filled the air, and children dressed in shiny Christmas outfits chased balloons across the lawn. Everywhere you turned, there were beautifully packed paper lunch packs in paper bags and wooden cutlery, no flying nylons, no rolling plastic bottles. Even the suya man by the gate served his meat in kraft paper wraps also known as Greaseproof paper. The older residents sat under canopies, nodding in approval, while Mama Agba beamed like someone who had just won chieftaincy
After the party, there was nothing to clean up. The streets remained tidy, the gutters didn’t overflow, and even the estate security said, “This na the first party wey no leave wahala behind.” It was clear.
Paper packaging wasn’t just stylish, it was the peacekeeper of the day.On the day of the party, the entire estate glowed. Children danced around with packs of jollof rice in hand. No scattered plastics, no clogged gutters. Even Mama Agba clapped in surprise. “This Anita girl ehn… you get sense!”
Laughter filled the air, and as the sun set, everyone agreed that it was their best end of the year party yet. Clean, fun, and full of Christmas cheer.
